UVODNI GLAGOL U PROŠLOM VREMENU
POTVRDNI OBLIK
Kad se uvodni glagol nalazi u prošlom vremenu, onda pri tvorbi neupravnog govora moramo promeniti i vreme rečenice. Vreme u kojem je napisana rečenica u upravnom govoru menjamo za jedno vreme unazad.

He said to me: „I'm sorry, it wasn't possible for me to see you last week as I had arranged, and you must really excuse me for not telling you this.“
He said to me that he was sorry, it hadn't been possible for him too see me the previous week as he had arranged, and that I really had to excuse him for not telling me that.

POTVRDI OBLIK
He says:“This is my book.“
He says that this is his book.
U potvrdnim rečenicama s uvodnim glagolom u sadašnjem vremenu(present simple,future simple i present perfect) možemo, ali i ne moramo koristiti veznik that, i vazno je naglasiti da nema promene vremena.
Dakle, vreme se ne sme menjati u rečenici koju smo prebacili u neupravni govor.

Time/place references change when using reported speech




The most common of these changes are shown below:

They said that they would come in two days time/ two days later.

In some cases the backshift of tenses is not necessary, e.g. when statements are still true.

Mandy: "The sun rises in the East."
Mandy said (that) the sun rose in the East. or
Mandy said (that) the sun rises in the East.

Note: The word >that< can be left out
